Dennis Johnson is founder of MobyLives, one of the world's first book blogs, and co-founder of Melville House US & UK.

My name is Amanda Parel, and I’m a senior creative writing and journalism double major at Miami University in Oxford, OH. I also have minors in Spanish and rhetoric & composition.

My career aspiration since sixth grade has been to work as an editor for a publishing company. At Miami, I’m working my way towards my goal as editor-in-chief of Miami’s Odyssey team and a member of Sigma Tau Delta, an international English honor society.

I am also interested in communications, marketing, and advertising.

Check out my work on Odyssey!

Odyssey is an online platform that publishes content relatable to millennials written by college students from across the country. I've been a member of Miami's Odyssey team for over two and a half years. After eight months as a content creator tasked with writing an article each week and marketing my articles through social media to gain thousands of views, I was promoted to contributing editor. As contributing editor, I assisted in managing a team of 20 writers at my college, including interviewing and hiring. I helped edit the team’s content to ensure quality and search engine optimization while continuing to write weekly articles. After 10 months, I was promoted again to editor-in-chief and have held the position for over a year.
