Bio

I’m from Dayton, OH, and I go to school an hour away at Miami University (commonly confused with the University of Miami in Florida, but we were a school before Florida became a state). I’m in my fourth year studying creative writing and journalism with minors in Spanish and rhetoric & composition. My dream job is to be an editor for a publishing company, but I’m also interested in communications, marketing, and advertising.

At Miami, I’ve worked as a resident assistant in one of the campus residence halls. As an RA, I’ve dealt with everything from 2 a.m. knocks on my door when students get locked out to someone throwing eggs at a wall in the basement.

I’m also editor-in-chief of Miami’s Odyssey team. Outside of work, I’m secretary and choreographer for Miami Dance Corps, a member of Miami’s Writing Scholars program, and a member of Sigma Tau Delta, an international English honor society. My favorite college experience so far has been studying abroad in Spain for two months during the summer of 2018. I took classes in Gijón for one month and spent the next month hiking and biking el Camino de Santiago and touring various cities.

My passions and hobbies include reading, writing, dancing, drinking coffee, and arguing in favor of the Oxford comma.

Check out my work on Odyssey!

Odyssey is an online platform that publishes content relatable to millennials written by college students from across the country. I've been a member of Miami's Odyssey team for over two and a half years. After eight months as a content creator tasked with writing an article each week and marketing my articles through social media to gain thousands of views, I was promoted to contributing editor. As contributing editor, I assisted in managing a team of 20 writers at my college, including interviewing and hiring. I helped edit the team’s content to ensure quality and search engine optimization while continuing to write weekly articles. After 10 months, I was promoted again to editor-in-chief and have held the position for over a year.
